Blepharoplasty

See the World Differently....
Eyelid Rejuvenation
Eyes are the window to the soul, but are the first area to show signs of aging. During the aging process, wrinkles, lines and puffiness contribute to a tired or aged appearance. A blepharoplasty or eyelid rejuvenation can return youthful elegance to an individual's face, making the eyes brighter and more refreshed.
Blepharoplasty is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the eyelids to achieve a rejuvenated and more alert look, and in some cases may help improve your field of vision.
The Blepharoplasty Procedure
By removing puffy bags and correcting droopy eyelids, a blepharoplasty can provide a rejuvenated look. It may even help you see better. During the procedure, Dr. Gil Selkin will make a tiny incision that is hidden in the natural eyelid creases to provide optimal results. Skin is tightened to give a firm, smooth appearance. Fine sutures are used to achieve the cosmetic goal.
The Recovery Process
Dr. Selkin will give you specific post-operative instructions that should be followed for best results. Many patients choose blepharoplasty because of the dramatically noticeable results.
Do I Need Blepharoplasty?
Ask yourself these questions: Do I appear tired? Do my eyes appear smaller than they did in the past? Is the skin of my upper eyelid overhanging the normal lid crease and nearing the eyelashes? Are there bulges and bags surrounding my eyes? If you answered YES to any of the questions, then schedule your FREE consultation with Dr. Gilbert Selkin today! You'll discover eyelid surgery is a relatively simple procedure that can create a dramatic change in your looks.
Upper
Upper blepharoplasty, for removal of excess skin and fat from the upper eyelid, is usually performed for cosmetic reasons, but can be considered medically necessary when the excess skin covers the eyelid or deflects the eyelashes downward, affecting the visual field. In this procedure, the excess skin is removed along with appropriate amounts of fatty tissue to rejuvenate the upper eyelid appearance. The procedure is appropriate for both women and men.
Lower
Lower blepharoplasty can correct drooping lower lids and puffy bags below the eyes to help patients look younger. Removal or rearrangement of this fat creates a more rested and youthful appearance under the eyes. This technique gives a natural look to the rejuvenated eyelids.
